Terms of Service

1. Service Description

MailtoPst is an online email archive conversion service. It allows you to convert files in PST, OST, MBOX, EML, EMLX, MSG, and OLM formats from one format to another. The service is accessible via a web browser after creating a user account.

2. Acceptable Use

By using MailtoPst, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when registering
  • Not use the service for illegal or unauthorized purposes
  • Not attempt to circumvent technical limitations of the service
  • Not upload files containing malicious software
  • Respect third-party intellectual property rights

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms.

3. Pricing and Payment Methods

Prices depend on file size and are shown in euros, taxes included, on the Pricing page and before every payment. The price shown when you place the order is the one that applies.

  • Free up to 50 MB: every account includes 50 MB of free credit. A file covered by this credit is converted without payment.
  • Files up to 2 GB: the conversion runs first. Payment is only requested once the file has been converted and verified, before you download it.
  • Files over 2 GB: your card is authorized (a hold, not a charge) before the upload. The amount is only captured once the file has been converted and verified. If the conversion fails or the upload never completes, the hold is released and nothing is charged.
  • Prepaid credit: you can buy credit in bulk. It is deducted from the size of the files you convert, does not expire and is not transferable.
  • Archive Reader: paid access to one file in the online reader costs €19 and lasts 30 days from payment.
  • Maximum online size: 50 GB per file. Above 50 GB, conversion is quoted on request. Businesses can also request a quote for any volume, including below 50 GB, for example for assisted processing or payment by bank transfer.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never have access to your card numbers.

File deletion:

  • Successful conversion: the original file and the converted file are automatically deleted from our servers no later than 24 hours after upload. Download your result within that window. If you buy the Archive Reader, the original file is kept for the 30 days of access, then deleted.
  • Failed conversion: the original file is kept for at most 24 hours so you can retry without uploading it again, then it is deleted automatically, along with any partial output.
  • You can delete your files immediately at any time from your account.

4. Refunds and Withdrawal Right

A failed conversion is never charged. If the conversion or the output integrity check fails, reserved credit is returned to your account and the card authorization is cancelled without a charge. If a charge was captured but the file cannot be delivered, it is refunded automatically to the card used.

A successful conversion is not refundable. Once the file has been converted and has passed its integrity check, the amount paid or the credit used is no longer refundable.

Unused prepaid credit can be refunded on request within 14 days of purchase. Credit that has been used is not refundable.

Withdrawal right: conversions and Archive Reader access are services performed as soon as you request them. By starting a conversion or opening the reader after payment, you ask for immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose your withdrawal right once the service has been fully performed (Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code). For a purchase whose performance has not started, you have 14 days to withdraw.

5. Limitation of Liability

MailtoPst is provided "as is." We make every effort to ensure conversion quality but cannot guarantee that the service will be free from errors or interruptions.

We shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of the service, particularly in the event of data loss. You are responsible for keeping a backup of your original files before any conversion.
