What is a PST file?

PST (Personal Storage Table) is a proprietary file format created by Microsoft for Outlook. It stores a complete local copy of your mailbox data including emails, contacts, calendar events, tasks, and notes. PST files follow the MS-PST Open Specification and are the most common format for Outlook data backup and migration.
